The 7.62mm Kalashnikov assault rifle upgraded (AKM, GRAU — 6P1 index) is a submachine gun adopted by the Armed Forces of the USSR in 1959 to replace the AK assault rifle.

The production of AKM submachine guns and its modifications was carried out by Izhevsk Machine-building and Tula Arms Factories in 1959-1975. The machines were supplied to several dozen countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. The Warsaw Pact countries, as well as Egypt, India, Iraq, China, North Korea, Finland, and Yugoslavia were granted licenses to manufacture assault rifles. More than 10 countries have started unlicensed production of AK and AKM assault rifles. Currently, 7.62mm Kalashnikov assault rifles are used by the armed forces and police formations of about 100 countries.

The set includes 5 polyurethane resin models of assault rifles with two assembly options: with and without a grenade launcher, as well as 2 types of magazines: disc and box magazines, as well as a photo etching board with brackets and straps and fire translators.

The set is supplied in an unassembled and unpainted form.
