A pallet (also called a pallet, a sled) is a transport container specially designed for moving with the help of a forklift. A container that has a rigid platform and a place sufficient to create an enlarged cargo unit, used as a base for collecting, storing, reloading and transporting goods. It is designed for storing cargo and moving it by mechanical means.

Goods placed on a pallet can be attached to it with straps (fastening tapes).

They are most often made of coniferous wood.
