Το Tomcat είναι από καιρό ένα από τα θρυλικά μαχητικά αεροσκάφη του Πολεμικού Ναυτικού των ΗΠΑ και αποτελεί ένα από τα πιο προηγμένα οπλικά συστήματα που βασίζονται σε αερομεταφορείς. Η παραγωγή του F-14D ξεκίνησε τον Μάρτιο του 1990 και περιελάμβανε αναθεωρημένα ηλεκτρονικά, νέα αερομεταφερόμενα ραντάρ και τροποποιήσεις αεροηλεκτρονικού εξοπλισμού. Ως η πιο ικανή έκδοση F-14, μπορεί να μεταφέρει εκτεταμένα εξωτερικά φορτία, όπως το AIM-54 Phoenix και το AIM-120 AMRAAM. Τελική ταχύτητα 2,34 Mach. Νέο σχήμα κιτ.
