Το Maschinengewehr 34, ή MG 34, είναι ένα γερμανικό αερόψυκτο πολυβόλο που λειτουργεί με ανάκρουση, που δοκιμάστηκε για πρώτη φορά το 1929, παρουσιάστηκε το 1934 και κυκλοφόρησε σε μονάδες το 1936. Δέχεται το φυσίγγιο Mauser 7,92×57 mm και γενικά θεωρείται το το πρώτο πολυβόλο γενικής χρήσης στον κόσμο.
Το ευέλικτο MG 34 ήταν αναμφισβήτητα το πιο προηγμένο πολυβόλο στον κόσμο τη στιγμή της ανάπτυξής του. Ο συνδυασμός της εξαιρετικής κινητικότητάς του, το ότι είναι αρκετά ελαφρύ για να μεταφερθεί από έναν άνθρωπο και η υψηλή ταχύτητα πυρός (έως 900 βολές ανά λεπτό) ήταν απαράμιλλη.
