Το ελληνικό μισθοφορικό πεζικό ήταν εξοπλισμένο με πανοπλία παραδοσιακού σπαρτιατικού τύπου: μια χάλκινη ασπίδα οπλίτη και ένα κράνος, αλλά οι Έλληνες πολεμιστές δεν φορούσαν θώρακα ή κνημίδες. Οι πεζικάριοι χρησιμοποιούσαν το συνηθισμένο δόρυ και ξίφος και φορούσαν έναν κόκκινο εξωμίτη, δηλαδή έναν χιτώνα που άφηνε ακάλυπτο τον έναν ώμο.
