Protective 4BO USSR (early) 18ml
SKU: 01.313Shop by Vendor: Jim Scale
Protective 4BO - used in Soviet technology from early 1939 to mid-1950. The main and most recognizable shade of green among Red Army tanks. In reality, the same 4BO color was different at different times, this depended on the availability of pigments in a certain period and the paint production technology. 01.313 has more of an olive tint than a green tint.
Jim Scale brand acrylic paints for modelers are made using pigment pastes designed for artistic production, providing color purity and high light fastness. The paints are odorless and safe for allergy sufferers.
Adhesion: The color is dense with a high degree of coverage and adhesion to the model. The paints apply well even to unprimed surfaces. The painted surface has a semi-matte color and a smooth, integral structure.
Airbrush/brush: paints can be applied either with an airbrush without additional thinning or directly with a brush. The paint can be thinned with a proprietary thinner (Art. 01.010) or any thinner for water-based acrylics.
Bottles: paints are packaged in 18 ml bottles. The diameter of the bottles is 27mm.
Mixing: during storage, separation into fractions is possible, which is typical for liquid acrylics and does not degrade the quality of the paint. Each bottle contains a ball with a diameter of 6 mm made of AISI 304 stainless steel. Before use, it is recommended to shake the contents of the bottle until smooth for a minute.
Freezing: paints tolerate sub-zero temperatures (down to -30).
Interaction with removers: application of removers based on white spirit, filters, varnishes and other chemicals is recommended 24 hours after painting. After a day, the paint dries completely, while the paint layer remains relatively elastic and can withstand even slight shrinkage of varnishes.
Washing: It is recommended to wash the airbrush immediately after painting with plain water (not necessarily distilled).
