Rabitz, size S (1/48)
SKU: S-138Rabitz mesh (also acceptable stylistically neutral variants are Rabitz-mesh and Rabitsa from German Rabitzgewebe) is a construction material. It is named after the German inventor Carl Rabitz, who is believed to have invented it in 1878 and described it in his patent for a machine for producing metal mesh (in fact, the patent shows a regular woven mesh).
Rabitz mesh is used to create fences, sift bulk materials, secure mine workings in mines and quarries, for thermal insulation work, plastering, and to make cages and enclosures for animals. Anti-cumulative screens for armored vehicles were also actively made from chain-link mesh during World War II and the Korean War.
